”It is a boy ,right”?
Celebrations begun in the village with the fireworks glaring the dusk and drum beats piercing the sky,the fragrance of laddoos hijacked the surroundings.
Then the nurse came and whispered in a low voice-“it is a girl “.
Only the new born child recognised her cover a shroud, and knew her time was up.
So sad for so many reasons.

So true this. What a great moment to have posted this with the Women’s Marches happening.

Powerful, Shiva, and sad. There are Women’s Marches going on all around me right now, millions across the world, so important to keep fighting for our rights in a society that wants to silence us. 🙂
